It’s that time – my once a month column where I feature 5 people, organizations and/or businesses that I think you should check out! Hope you enjoy!

1. Wrap-N-Dry!   Model in pink green background

My dear friend, Cherney Johnson, designed this product in the hopes of finally creating a hair towel that requires no twisting, unraveling or heavy bulking to weigh your head down and leave your hair in tangles. Wrap-n-Dry hair towel is durable and soft, with a delicate Velcro finish that wraps flat to keep your hair and scalp healthy and is perfect for all hair types! You can find Wrap-n-Dry on facebook and order on Etsy!

2. Stage Right Productions  10479731_1010014029015779_4880078816809094769_n

Broadway veteran and artistic director, Arimane Reames, has been heading Stage Right Productions for five years and it is quite simply, AWESOME. This youth musical theatre enrichment program for kids nine and up has quickly become one of the most popular young musical theatre companies in the LA area. Quality productions, incredible talent and, best of all, affordable!! Located in Studio City near restaurants and shops! If your child is looking for a theatre group to be a part of then check out Stage Right! You can find them on facebook!

3. Nary Dairy  nary dairy

A fellow Studio City mom and friend, Lois Keller, has created amazing non-dairy delectables that are not only good for you but they taste fantastic! All natural alternative to dairy, Nary Dairy products are low in fat, high in vitamins and antioxidants. Flavors include Beer Nut Cheese, Mesquite Smoked, Beddar Cheddar and more! Spread them on crackers, bagels or eat it plain, Nary Dairy is a great alternative for the cheese lover who can’t have dairy! You can find them on facebook or visit their website at narydairy.com!

4. Filling The Empty Nest  kath

So, this one is close to home. My sweet, beautiful sister started a blog! Yep, now there are two bloggers in this family! With her first born about to leave for college, my sister, Kathleen, decided to write about all the feelings that go on when facing the reality that your child is moving away. Her blog is honest, emotional and extremely relate-able to anyone going through this. I can’t imagine the day my girl leaves for college but I know it will come and when it does I will be grateful to have had my sister’s journey to learn from. You can find Kathleen’s blog at fillingtheemptynestdotcom.wordpress.com!

5. Farm Sanctuary  pig

This 26-acre Southern California Shelter is located on a beautiful hacienda ranch in Acton, just 45 minutes from Hollywood. Give a piggy a belly rub, kiss a cow, talk with a turkey. These animals are protected and free and waiting for you to visit. In addition to providing shelter for approximately 100 animals, Farm Sanctuary’s Animal Acres offers one-hour guided tours on Sundays and group tours are available by appointment.  If you’re an animal lover this is a great place to spend a day with the family! You can find them at their website farmsanctuary.org!

And there you have it! February’s Word of Mouth 5! I hope you enjoy these suggestions. I know my column would be nothing without all of you and, well, word of mouth…
